People celebrate Earth Day differently. In Picture 1, a man is trying to put up a banner on a lonely tree surrounded by stumps, but in vain, while Picture 2 shows a couple happily planting trees.
The message conveyed here is clear: "Actions speak louder than words." Our earth is suffering severe damage. Should we just pay lip service or take practical measures to protect it? The answer is definitely the latter. Immediate actions should be taken, like stopping cutting down trees to better the environment.
Actions are important in other fields, too. Instead of shouting empty slogans, it is more meaningful to donate books and sports goods to children in need. We should strictly and voluntarily follow traffic rules, stopping at the red light rather than complaining about traffic jams. Only when we match our words with actions can we make a difference in whatever we hope to accomplish.

今年的高考英語有什么新動向,如何備戰(zhàn)才能獲得高分?在日前由《中國電腦教育報》和DEC中恒聯(lián)合舉辦的21世紀語言與情景教學高級專家論壇上,來自北京外國語大學、清華大學、北京大學等知名學府和權(quán)威語言教學機構(gòu)的英語教育專家透露:今年高考英語將更加突出語言的整體運用功能,“情景”考察的比重進一步加大,所有題型從聽力到書面表達無不是在語境中進行詞匯、語法等單項的考察。專家提醒廣大考生,要徹底丟棄過去那種死記硬背單詞、生呑活剝語法的“頭痛醫(yī)頭腳痛醫(yī)腳”式復(fù)習方法,從整體上把握英語,以能力的提高為應(yīng)試的基石,否則難獲高分。
專家分析說,近幾年高考英語單項選擇一般是15道題,其中有10道題是直接在語境中進行考察的,只有5道題或者是句子結(jié)構(gòu)分析或者詞義辨析,即使是純結(jié)構(gòu)和辨析題也都包含一定的語境。所以,教師在平時編題,考生在復(fù)習時都應(yīng)該遵從這個比例配置,把語境題放在主導地位。閱讀理解盡管包含了各種各樣的話題,但是歷屆高考閱讀題細節(jié)占的比重最大,所謂細節(jié)其實就是語境、情景。在聽力方面,輸出的信息完全在語境中進行。而書面表達,一般是情景作文,或者開放式的情景作文,在一定情景基礎(chǔ)上給學生更大的思維空間,目的是培養(yǎng)學生的`創(chuàng)新能力。

It's useful and necessary to discuss learning habits. In reality, different students have different learning habits, which I think influence their learning efficiency greatly. Good habits always lead to high efficiency, while bad ones bring the opposite.
Some students are good at concentrating on what the teachers teach in class. They think only in this way can they understand and memorize the teaching materials better. If we find those materials interesting, we'll focus our attention on them for long. However, those dull lessons require our determination, self-controlling ability and confidence.
My classmates always call me "Mr. forgetful", because I cannot memorize those I have learnt. I know that it is because I don't spend some time in memorizing them after class. My teachers advise me to repeat the materials several times and read them aloud, which they think will help improve my memory.
