　　在英語教學(xué)中，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生聽、說、讀、寫的能力是相輔相成的。經(jīng)常練習(xí)寫作，可以鞏固和發(fā)展聽說能力，還可以促進(jìn)閱讀能力的提高。寫作能促使學(xué)生勤復(fù)習(xí)、多思考。通過對一詞一句反復(fù)推敲，有助于提高使用 語言的準(zhǔn)確性。

　　學(xué)習(xí)用英語寫作是培養(yǎng)英語思維能力的重要途徑之一，有了一定的英語思維能力，英語學(xué)習(xí)就能產(chǎn)生一個相應(yīng)的飛躍。因此，在高中階段指導(dǎo)、培養(yǎng)學(xué)生寫英語作文是不容等閑視之的。

　　用英語解釋生詞，為學(xué)生打好寫作基礎(chǔ)。教師應(yīng)創(chuàng)造語言環(huán)境，通過耳濡目染、潛移默化，培養(yǎng)用英語思維的習(xí)慣。在教每課的單詞和詞組時，要盡量用學(xué)生學(xué)過的單詞、詞組進(jìn)行解釋。剛開始時，可由教師用英語解釋生詞，后來可讓學(xué)生根據(jù)漢語釋意，用自己學(xué)過的單詞、詞組解釋。這樣，經(jīng)過一段時間的訓(xùn)練，學(xué)生的英語思維能力就會有所提高，為英語寫作打下較好的基礎(chǔ)。在作文時，如果不知道某個東西的英語表達(dá)方式而又無詞典可查，這時學(xué)生就會用其釋義來代替，如用"a person who makes clothes"來代替"a tailor"， 這雖不完全符合英語語言習(xí)慣，但對初學(xué)寫作的高中生來說還是值得鼓勵的。

　　如在學(xué)習(xí)了"The Lost Necklace"（《項鏈》）、"Tailor's Shop"（《百萬英鎊》）等課文后，我引導(dǎo)學(xué)生把這些課文進(jìn)行改寫，以英語劇的形式表演出來，這就要求學(xué)生不僅要讀這兩個故事的原文或改寫本，更要求他們把已學(xué)過的知識運用到實際中，圍繞劇情，根據(jù)角色的身份、職業(yè)特點、社會文化背景等進(jìn)行增加或刪改，提高了他們運用語言的能力。

　　此外，鍛煉學(xué)生運用其它體裁改寫整篇文章。如高二"A Famous Detective"寫著名偵探福爾摩斯的故事是以第三人稱敘述的，故事中的人物有大偵探福爾摩斯、助手華生、小姐、叔叔等。我讓學(xué)生發(fā)揮各自的優(yōu)勢，用各種體裁和形式，對原文進(jìn)行改寫。有的改寫成了劇本，我就組織幾個學(xué)生分角色表演；有的'學(xué)生用第一人稱來敘事，以故事中的某一個角色為"我"，來重新構(gòu)造故事；還有的發(fā)揮充分的想象，將"毒蛇"擬人化，來敘述故事等等。學(xué)生們興意昂然，自由發(fā)揮，身臨其境，創(chuàng)造情景，全班有多一半的同學(xué)參加了有表情的表演、朗誦等課堂展示活動，不僅鍛煉了他們的想象能力，也鍛煉了學(xué)生們的寫作能力。
