英語(yǔ)觀點(diǎn)類(lèi)作文(通用15篇)

  英語(yǔ)觀點(diǎn)類(lèi)作文 篇1

Good morning everyone . Today my topic is "Do you prefer to study and live in a big city or a small-one?".

As we all know , there is a big differencebetween big cities and small cities .

I prefer to study in the big city. BecauseI can learn a lot in the big city. Big cities have rich teaching resources. Here I can meet people all over the country. And I can learn about different cultures.I’ll have more opportunities in the big city.

But I don’t like living in a big city. Itis true that big cities are economically developed which offers various jobopportunities and the traffic is very convenient. There are a lot of places forpublic entertainment such as parks, restaurants, museums, etc However, thereare still disadvantages. The cost of living here is high and it’s overpopulated.Besides, the air pollution and bad living environment should be considered .

As for small cities, although the economy isnot very developed, the air is fresh, the environment is quiet and peaceful, andit is more comfortable to live in. So I prefer live in small cities whilestudying in big cities. So, that’s why I chose to attend college in a big city. But after graduation, I might go back to my hometown to find a job and livethere.

  That’s all, thank you.

Hello everyone, today I want to discuss topicwith you: Should our fresh men live by themselves or live with others in thedifferent grades?

Of course, different people have differentideas. Now, I will share my idea with you, which is that we should live with studentsin the same grade

First,Freshmen can go to class together, to adapt tothe new teaching method and spend the free time together. Unlike high schoolwhich is busy, college life gives us a lot of spare time when everyone gather togetherin the dormitory to share the attitudes towards the new school and new teachers, discusstheir professional knowledge, and talk about the future plan of development. Itis very convenient to do these things if students in the same grade live in thesame dormitory.

Second, freshman is so shy, not familiar with the surrounding environment. If living together with the seniors, they may be laughed at and bullied, butfreshmen living together can help each other to be familiar with thesurroundings. For example, we can go around the campus and find it so beautiful.Perhaps this is what high school students think of no fun, but freshmen arefull of curiosity, so I think the freshmen should live together.

In conclusion, let us join hands together to create a good livingenvironment. The dormitory is also home to us. It needs our join efforts to letit become warm and harmonious. So, cherish our college life, cherish the collegefriendship.

I prefer my English classes to be taught only in English because it is helpful for us to improve the ability of speaking and listening in a very short time. I have strong interest in English study and foreign culture, so I’d like to be totally immersed in the atmosphere of English so that I can quickly make progress. That’s why I prefer total English. However, since we are all English beginners, it’s really hard to understand all that the teacher says. Sometimes we need Chinese explanation.

So my viewpoint is that we are taught not only in English but also using Chinese as a minor way to explain things that are hard to understand.

If you ask me what is my favourite occupation.I will say “A teacher” without any hesitation. This is because of my teachers impact on me.

Teachers are considered as the greatest occupation in the world. They try their best to help their students obtain the knoeledge and become useful people in society.I think I will be in honor of teachers .

It is easier to say than to do.To be a good teacher is not easy,so I should establish good foundation now .To study much harder is certainly necessary. In addition ,try to learn the methodology from the teacher.and teach old man Endlish in your neighbourhood in your spare time, this can let you have much experience.

I believe that I will be a good teacher in the future.

Recently we have had a heated discussion on whether people should keep pets at home in cities. Some students think it’s a good idea to keep pets because old people who live alone at home can get some comfort from pets. Besides, getting along well with animals will make our life interesting. On the contrary, the other students are against the idea. In their opinion, if too many people keep pets at home, it is bad for the environment. What is worse, pets may make too much noise and even attack people.

I like animals, so I don’t think it is bad to keep pets at home. But we must take some measures to prevent them from polluting our environment or causing other troubles.

THE outcome was never in doubt. On December 12th America s central bank kept shortterm interest rates unchanged at 5.25%. What mattered was the statement accompanying the Federal Reserve s decision. Although Ben Bernanke and his colleagues gave a nod to the slowing economy , they repeated that they still considered inflation a bigger worry than weak growth.

That is not what Wall Street has been thinking. According to the latest Blue Chip monthly survey, four out of five financial forecasters reckon the central bank s next move will be to cut the federal funds rate. Some once optimistic seers have been busy cutting their growth forecasts. The price of fed funds futures suggests that financial markets see a 20% chance of lower interest rates by April. This had been close to 70%, but unexpectedly strong growth in jobs and then retail sales in November has caused some in the markets to think a rate cut less likely.

The central bankers are simultaneously more cautious and more optimistic than many on Wall Street. With core inflation still well above the 12% rate they unofficially deem appropriate, Mr. Bernanke and his colleagues are genuinely worried about price pressure. Although fuel costs have fallen sharply, core consumer prices, which exclude the volatile categories of food and energy, still rose by 2.8% in the year to October. The Fed s preferred price gauge, the core personal consumption deflator, went up by 2.4% in the year to October, only a little short of the fastest pace for a decade. With inflation still too high, cautious central bankers see scant reason for abandoning their hawkish rhetoric.

There are people who believe that some numbers bring good luck, while others bring bad luck. For instance, in China the number eight is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West, we find that the number seven is considered lucky, but the number 13 is avoided like the plague.

In spite of all these claims, most people would agree that there is little evidence that numbers have any influence on our lives. In fact, they say, the reverse seems to be the case. For one thing, we might expect calculators to break down every time they note the number 13, and for another, although every week has seven days we know that not every week is lucky for us.

Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view. It is obvious that there is no scientific basis for the belief that there is a connection between luck and numbers. All in all, it seems to me to be superstition.

Spring came with ail its glories. The new grass exposed its green colour. The pretty flowers opened their blossoms. We were tempted to go for an outing.

It was Sunday, the 20th of April We set out very early on bikes, carrying bottles of champagne, beer and bags of cakes, bacon and cooked eggs.

We rode along the winding paths in the fields, across the meadows and down the roads. The willow were fresh and green.

The swallows were flying to and fro, up and down the sky. The birds, like musicians, snang their melodious songs in the trees, and the butterflies, like colorful dancers, were fluttering here and there. We breathed the fresh air deeply and laughed heartily.

At 10 a.m. we arrived at the foot of the Shushan Hill. We left our bikes with a bike repairing shop and began to climb up the Hill.

Near the top, under a big tree with luxuri ant foliage we had our picnic. We drank and ate, talked and laughed. After the picnic we stood in the breeze with our hands on our waists, enjoying the fine landscape. Then we lay on the grass talking about our life and studies.

At about 4 p. m. , we returned with balmy greenness on our backs and freshness in our hearts.

"nowadays people are selfish and greedy."do you agree or disagree with this point of view?

there is no doubt that some people are selfish and greedy. for eample, some merchants sell their fake commodities at the market place for more profit. they are rich and want to be richer. there are also government officials who sell people's trust. senior officials who take bribes by selling the power in their hands are not a few. those people believe in the precept "everyone for himself and the devil take the hind most."

however, the majority of people are neither selfish nor greedy. they contribute much and ask for little. countless eamples can be found around us, the pla soldiers who sacrificed themselves for saving people's lives in fighting the disastrous floods and the warriors in white who risked their lives to save sars victims being two of the most tyl)ical. ir, contrast to the selfish and corrupt official they are heroes, who set up glorious images for us.

the idea that nowadays people are selfish and greedy is probably attributed to the influence of the mass media which tend to over eaggerate the negative aspects of life.many newspapers, particularly many local evening papers, and tv films play up nastiness by reporting and showing too much about violence and se. a lot of books, too, portray selfishness and greed to seek sensational effect and economic profit.i wonder whether they are selfish and greedy, too

When asked about reading selectively or extensively. People may find it hard to come to consensus due to their different experience and conflicting values.

Those who advocate the ideas of reading selectively believe that you are less likely to win if you don’t excel in one field, since the competition is fierce today. For one thing, time is limited while are numerous. For another, some harmful books can corrupt one’s mind and even cause crimes.

Nevertheless, those who insist on reading extensively hold that people can broaden knowledge and experience by reading widely. First of all, one should always go after a greater achievement. Furthermore, only by reading extensively, can one keep abreast of time. Most important of all, knowledge is the source of power.

On balance, I think we should increase both the quality and quantity of our reading. That is because the significant of good reading cannot be overvalued as well as that of reading extensively.

There is no consensus of opinion in society about opportunities. There are some who think that opportunities come only rarely, and only to lucky people. Others argue that opportunities come to everyone from time to time.

Personally, I agree with the latter opinion. It seems to me that various kinds of opportunities are all around us all the time. The secret is to recognize opportunities and to grasp them in time, because they will not come to you of their own accord. For example, my classmates once refused to enter a national chemistry competition, because they thought that they had no chance of winning. But I took this opportunity, and by preparing well I managed to win the first prize.

Now my motto is: Watch out for opportunities, and at all times prepare yourself to take advantage of them.

The annual summer vacation is here and I hope to make a reasonable summer schedule for myself during the holiday season.

During the summer, it's also a good habit to go to bed and wake up early so that you can't sleep with watching TV or doing something else.

Our primary school children are in the rapid development stage of the body, the daily diet should have sufficient quantity, do not be picky, want to ensure balanced, reasonable nutrition every day.

In order to increase physical fitness, I also have the right amount of exercise, such as: mountain climbing, swimming, badminton, running and so on, these movements can promote their growth and development, and happy mood in the movement, can quickly increase appetite.

At the same time, I have to sit down every day, study my lessons, and finish all the homework assigned by my teacher. In this way, I will not rush in the last few days of the semester to catch up on my summer homework.

In general, during the summer vacation, it is important to combine physical exercise with warm learning. If you are free, you can also ask my parents to take me to visit the historic sites of the motherland. I wish I could have a pleasant and meaningful summer vacation!

A test of spoken English will be included as an optional component of College English Test . Some people argue that it is absolutely necessary to hold a test of spoken English in China because we have been informed frequently that a Chinese student who has been learning English for over ten years cannot even communicate with a native speaker. A test of spoken English will bring the college students an awareness of the importance of oral English, and will thus help them with their communicating skills.

On the other hand, some others still maintain that a good command of reading and writing skills will be enough for the English learners. To some extent their opinion derives from the fact that students are already under considerable pressure from their coursework. Another required test will only add to their burden.

In my opinion, a test of spoken English will do more good than harm. Since China will continue its policy of opening and reform, the ability to speak English fluently is a must for anyone who wants to surpass others in a highly competitive society. Whether I take the test or not, I shall spare no efforts to practice oral English in the remaining years of my college study.

Everyone is entitled to have an opinion. When it comes to opinions, though there’s a difference between the majority of people and celebrities like actors, athletes and rocks stars . If you’ve an average person, only your family and friends care about your opinion. If your famous ,the whole world listens, or so it seems sometimes. Is this the way it should be ? I don’t think so.

We shouldn’t pay attention to famous people’s opinions just because of who they are. Being a famous basketball player doesn’t make someone an expert on environmental issues. However, that basketball player has a better opportunity to be heard than most people do. If that player feels very strongly about an issue ,he can use his fame to draw attention to it and get other people involved. That way they can draw attention and needed dollars to that issue.

People who are rich put their money behind a cause.. In the same way, famous people are using their most valuable asset. In their case, it’s not money, It’s their name recognition. Should people pay attention to what they think just because of who they are? I don’t think so. I also don’t think we should discount what they think just because of who there are. They have a right to their opinion. If their name draws people to that cause, all the better for the cause.

I think too often we categorized people and try to keep them in their place. Celebrities have brains and should be allowed to use them. When they ‘re advocating a cause, their opinion should be just one of money factors we use to evaluate that cause.

Many people like watching TV. TV brings the outside world into people’s homes. People say the world is smaller than before because of TV. What is going on in other countries? How do people live in places far away? What sports do people play in other countries?

If you want to know the answers to these and other kinds of questions, just turn on the TV. Of course people can also learn through reading books or listening to the radio, but many say they learn more by watching TV. Why? Because they can listen to and watch it.

TV opens our eyes to the outside world,at the same time also helps to open our minds. TV often gives us new ideas. We learn newer and better ways of doing things.
