韻律——
詩(shī)歌不一定押韻，但一定有節(jié)奏（韻律）。節(jié)奏在英文中叫rhythm，源自希臘，意為流動(dòng)（flow）,即從一點(diǎn)向另一點(diǎn)有張有弛地運(yùn)動(dòng)。我們?nèi)绾斡靡舨椒▉?lái)分析英文詩(shī)的節(jié)奏呢？就拿格律詩(shī)為例吧。首先把每個(gè)詩(shī)行分成若干個(gè)音節(jié)，并區(qū)分哪些是重讀音節(jié)，哪些是非重讀音節(jié)，找出它們排列的形式，以及這種排列形式在一個(gè)詩(shī)行中出現(xiàn)次數(shù)，也就是行內(nèi)所含的音步數(shù)目。答案補(bǔ)充押韻——
所謂押韻，是指相同或相似的重讀音節(jié)先后出現(xiàn)在兩個(gè)或更多詩(shī)行的相應(yīng)位置上。英文詩(shī)押韻的種類可分為全韻、近似韻（也稱有缺陷的韻）。全韻是指押韻時(shí)必須押在由不同輔音開(kāi)頭的重讀音節(jié)上，其中元音相同，跟在這個(gè)元音后面的輔音或其他非重讀音節(jié)也必須相同；近似韻有三種情況，即最后的輔音相同，但前面的元音相似而不相同；元音相同后面的輔音不同，謂諧元韻；重讀元音不同所有的輔音都相同，謂諧輔韻
另一個(gè)跟押韻有關(guān)的詩(shī)法手段是詞首韻，是指相同的音素（主要是輔音）重復(fù)出現(xiàn)在一些有關(guān)聯(lián)的單詞詞首部位。
英語(yǔ)詩(shī)的韻律較為復(fù)雜，根據(jù)押韻的音在詩(shī)行中的出現(xiàn)位置可以分為尾韻和行內(nèi)韻兩種。尾韻押在詩(shī)行最后一個(gè)重讀音節(jié)上，是最常見(jiàn)的押韻部位，這和漢語(yǔ)詩(shī)的押韻相同；行內(nèi)韻是指詩(shī)行中間的停頓或休止前的'重讀音節(jié)與該行的最后一個(gè)重讀音節(jié)押韻。
答案補(bǔ)充按照押韻的音節(jié)多少，又可分為：
單韻，又稱男韻。所押的韻音局限于詩(shī)行中重讀的末尾音節(jié)，這種韻體強(qiáng)勁有力。
雙韻，又稱女韻。押韻于連接的兩個(gè)音節(jié)上，后一個(gè)為非重讀音節(jié)，這種韻體常給人以輕快、幽婉之感。
三重韻，押韻于三個(gè)連接的音節(jié)上，多用于幽默詩(shī)、諷刺詩(shī)中。
英文無(wú)韻詩(shī)是指不押韻但有固定的韻律和長(zhǎng)度。
